In this workshop and improvised performance in Shanghai, I explored how different bodies meet, respond, and support one another without fully knowing what will happen next. For me, improvisation is not simply inspired by life—it reflects the way I actually move through everyday life: observing, initiating, getting stuck, accepting help, and responding to what is already happening.

Through a clown theatre training journey in Beijing, I began to re-examine my own “imperfections” and discovered new possibilities of expression through my body, humor, and authentic self.

The exhibition felt very different from anything I had done before. In the past, I usually drew either to meet a commercial brief or to express my own aesthetics, emotions and sense of humour. I rarely had to think too much about “identity.” This time was different. Because the exhibition centred on rare disease, I naturally felt a stronger sense of responsibility while I was drawing.
